Woven Tea Coaster Workshop

Slow down with a cup of tea and learn the calming craft of rattan weaving. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a woven tea coaster using natural rattan reed — a timeless material known for its strength, flexibility, and subtle beauty.

Guided step-by-step, you’ll explore basic basketry techniques such as over-under weaving, shaping, and finishing, resulting in elegant, functional coasters perfect for your home or for gifting. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned maker, this workshop offers a grounding introduction to the art of weaving with natural fibers.  Students will complete at least one coaster in class, but can make two as time allows.  Materials and instructions will be available to take home to make an additional coaster for those who do not complete both in the class time.

In partnership with Little Green Art Studio at Forager Crafts, 2915 Knox Ave #103, Los Angeles, CA 90039, and sponsored by Green Girl Crafts.
